Jazz at the Con is a relatively new performance group formed in late 2017 and based in Lake Jackson, TX. The group came together as the result of an idea from saxophonist and group leader, Chad Lewis, in collaboration with guitarist and vocalist Juan Villarreal. The group had their first “informal” performance at Oni-Con XIV in Galveston. Since then, the group has played the Main Stage at San Japan, and also been invited guests at Oni-Con, where they served as the Cosplay Contest halftime show. All accomplished musicians in their own right, the group is able to cover a wide variety of genres, and you’re certain to hear several “crowd favorites” during one of their performances.
