2023 Overview

In the summer of 2023 Stardust Entertainment will be hosting Delta H Con 2023, the City of Houston’s oldest anime and gaming convention. Delta H Con will be bringing the citizens of Houston, Texas a quality and memorable experience with this unique and growing convention.

Visitors and guests will be presented with over 200 hours of programming, featuring a plethora of activities relating to anime, manga, cartoons, Lolita and games. Numerous panels where attendees can learn more about this unique hobby and participate in various activities with panelists will be held in several panel rooms. Video rooms are set aside for viewing of various anime television series, original video animations, and films. In addition, celebrities and voice actors will be special guests of Delta H Con, and are eager to speak to and interact with their fans.

Anime and manga, the terms for cartoons and comics from Japan, is a highly popular hobby and interest for many Americans of all ages. Much like American cartoons and television shows, Anime features many genres including romantic comedy, slice-of-life, fantasy, horror, action-adventure, and science fiction. Famous series include Dragon Ball Z and Mobile Suit Gundam, and films such as Spirited Away.  In addition, Japan features a large number of electronic gaming companies such as Namco-Bandai, Sony, Square-Enix, Nintendo, and numerous others. The Con scene also attracts a large number of fans of non-Japanese series like Adventure Time, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and the MS Paint webcomic Homestuck.

Like many other hobbies, this has inevitably led to conventions such as ours being established across the country to give fans a place to meet, exchange ideas and opinions, and discuss their favorite shows and games. Houston in particular presents a large opportunity for the anime and gaming scene due to its size, being the third largest city in the United States.

By becoming a sponsor of Delta H Con, you will be able to make yourself visible to convention guests, attendees, and visitors from all walks of life. This provides an opportunity to gain new customers and build positive and profitable relationships. In addition, exposure to the culture of anime fans and gamers may provide ideas and inspirations for marketing and advertising campaigns a company may undertake in the future.

For the year of 2019 we had just over 3700 attendees and we have grown our attendance every year for the previous three years. Due to Covid we did not have a 2020 show and 2021 and 2022 we limited attendees to 3000. Our population balance is 42.4% Female and 57.6% Male. With 43% in the 18-24 year age range, and 33% in the 25-34 year age range.

Target Demographics:  

Our primary demographics are fans of anime, manga, Lolita, board games, pc and console games, and popular cartoons. However we are open to the general public and anyone is welcome to purchase a badge, enter the con, and experience what Delta H Con and Houston’s anime and gaming community has to offer.

Cost:

Early 3-Day Badges are $25-50 online, GOLD VIP badges are $200 online (VIP badges come with a mixer with our Celebrity Guests, early entrance to the dealers room, and more), On-site 3-Day badges will be $50, Single-Day Badges: Valid day of purchase only, Friday 1-Day Badges are $35, Saturday 1-Day Badges are $45, Sunday 1-Day badges are $25.

Free Parking is available for the event.

Event Promotion

Based on our current working budget and our marketing research, we have created a marketing plan that we believe will spread awareness and generate interest in Delta H Con. This plan should not only appeal to previous attendees and encourage them to return, but also attract new customers who have not attended Delta H Con before.

Publicity

We have made available numerous press badges for any newspaper, magazine, or independent photographer who wishes to attend. These badges are available online at the Delta H Con Website.

In addition to press we also advertise at other Texas-based conventions by purchasing a table in their “artist alley” sections in order to draw more attention and spread awareness of Delta H Con at the state level. We advertise to local schools on mobile bus ads, radio stations in the Houston area, online targeted web ads. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram keep our attendees engaged throughout the year.

Website

Delta H Con has a fully functioning and well maintained website that is updated as soon as new data is made available. The website provides information on badge prices, guests, panels, voice actors, Industry guests and convention rules. There are also forums in which questions can be answered, ideas can be suggested, and opinions on con programing can be shared. To date our website has reached over 149,629 people, 57% of which reside in the Greater Houston Area, and our reach is growing outside of the Houston Metro area and outside the state of Texas!

Our E-Gaming room features 30 individual gaming stations (Arcade, Retro Consoles, Current Gen Consoles and PC) attendees can play for free. It’s a great place to get eyes on your brand.

Can’t make it to the show? You can still support Delta H Con! If you’re unable to join us as a vendor or sponsor, don’t worry! You can still gain valuable visibility and promote to all of our attendees by donation – products for raffles, tournament prizes and giveaways throughout the weekend. When you donate items, you will: • receive a thank you listing on our website • receive a thank you listing in the Delta H Con program book • receive a shout out during the event over the public address system • be mentioned in at least one email promotion • be able to send promotional flyers to us that we will happily have available for our attendees
